The Bath Fashion Museum

Unsurprisingly I chose to go to the Fashion Museum on our first free afternoon. The exhibit was phenomenal! They interpret the history of western fashion (1600s to today) in 100 objects. There was also a supplemental display of gloves with each era. I think different accessories are included in the exhibit every year or so to keep the displays fresh. Their really early garments were beautifully preserved.

They had a dress-up station in the middle of the timeline. This is the first place I've ever been to that caters the dress-up toward adults.

The museum used its display cases for storage... or its storage areas for display. I really dig this look. Very utilitarian, and shows visitors looks behind-the-scenes.

The museum also has a "dress of the year" display for the look most indicative of the previous year. The garments are chosen by experts in the industry. 2018's look was a women's ensemble by Louis Vuitton and a men's look by Kim Jones for Dior Men.
